Labour Tax Proposals

The Labour manifesto includes little detail on tax changes other than those announced in the March budget. However there are commitments

  • Not to raise the 20p, 40p and 50p rates of income tax in the next parliament
  • Not to extend VAT to childrens clothes, newspapers, food and public transport
  • To raise the national minimum wage in line with average earnings until 2015
